Since we all love to bike and ski on our trails, we all take care of them! It's great for the tourists too! Everybody wins with TCT! :)

New officers for 2010

Not a a huge showing of people, many usual suspects, but lots of
great food! Thanks to MSBC for the keg and thanks to Tim and Linda for
bringing their awesome beef for the burgers and dogs. There was a brief
meeting to elect new officers for 2010. They are as follows:

President:   Roger Lilly  (Blackwater Bikes)

Vice Pres:  Linda Blakeley  (Mountain Springs Farm)

Secretary:  Jeremy Golston  (Highland Prospects)

Treasurer:   Ivonne Martinez  (Mountaintop Library)

Roger getting on board is great because he is loves trails, trail building, and is a big time trail advocate and has good relationships with usfs, state park, refuge and cvi land managers.

Details of the fundraiser benefit at Hellbenders in December are coming soon!

We worked on the wet section of Woodcock right off Dobbin House. Major improvement says Roger! Lots of progress with minimal people having the right tools!

New trail renamed!

Word has it that Ken Dzaack, CVI land manager extraordinaire, has stated the new trail, temporarily known as "Rocky Point Trail", will be officially renamed "Hellbender Trail"! (Rocky Point is the knob the trail starts on, but there is some technicality that it can't be named that apparently) A tip of the hat to Rob and Melissa and the Hellbender crew for being so involved with TCT.... thanks! The name may also hold meaning for anyone who rode it during the Revenge of the Rattlesnake race after it's first ever inch of rain...woohoo boy it was like skiing!  The first rain the trail has seen since it was built, so a race being held on it was actually a good thing to help burn in the trail since Jason is not allowed to take his motorcycle on it :)  Congrats to HB's for being the first business in Tucker County to have a trail named after them!

Major Trail Work Day! Aug 29th!

was a great turnout and fine day for some good trail work. lots got done! Thanks to Rob B for picking up the tab at Hellbenders afterward! After some grub and a few beers, and a short rainstorm, a few of us decided for an evening ride up the mountain so we could ride the new trail down. The following day it was a bit drier and we had to ride it again and it was even faster. What a great new trail!

Rogers got new trails in the hopper!

Roger has a new trail flagged off dobbin house trail that goes to the actual old dobbin house site. getting on it requires a little bike-over-hand climb right now, but you can see the flagging if you look up at one spot on dobbin house trail. (or you can get on it from the clearing near one of the runoff ponds near the intersection of brads/dobbin house trails on the old strip mine. There is also the old yellow trail up there that was abandoned in the early 90s maybe?
